AMI/HDB3 Product Overview

AMI/HDB3 is a 256 ÷ 2048 Kbit/s line interface converter.

AMI-HDB3 has been developed to allow proper line conversion between very common communication devices with standard interface HDB3 and equipment with line interface type EUROCOM-D1.

AMI/HDB3 features "missing data" alarm at both interface' sides, providing automatic AIS signal injection for quick diagnostic and punctual investigation along wide networks.

AMI/HDB3 can be powered directly from a VDC supply, at 24VDC or 48VDC (SMT fuse internally protected), or from the mains with external power box. Device is enclosed in a robust compact metallic box.

MDI Products Overview

MDI is a 2048 Kbit/s line interface converter.

MDI converts unframed HDB3 or AMI data ITU G.703 E1 balanced or unbalanced interface into a interchangeable DTE inteface module.

MDI features "missing data" alarm at both interface' sides, providing automatic AIS signal injection for quick diagnostic and punctual investigation along wide networks.

MDI can be powered directly from a VDC supply, at 24VDC or 48VDC (SMT fuse internally protected), or from the mains with external power box.

The following versions of the MDI converter are available :


  • MDI standalone unit

  • MDI/R a plug-in card for installation in the 19-inch rack




  • MDI/RU a plug-in card for installation in the rugged version
