2TD Family Product Overview

The 2TD xx-xxx equipment series is designed for  transmission of 30 or 60 PCM telephone channels (2 or 2+2 Mbit/s) in the 400, 900, 1350-1535, 2000-2300 and 2300-2440 MHz frequency bands.

Synthesizers are used for transmitter and receiver LO's frequency control. The wide-band RF circuits used in the transmitter and receiver allow RF carrier selection to be made simply re-programming the synthesizers with adjustable switches, no other adjustment being necessary on RF circuits.
An improved MTBF figure is obtained using a phase-locked direct modulation transmitter with low power consumption.

The equipment includes the AIS insertion, the scrambler, independent TX and RX changeover devices, redundant power supply and one digitalized (2TD 20) or two digitalized (2TD 22) service channels (which are available also in case of absence/ failure of data streams).
HITLESS version is also available for space/frequency diversity configurations (exception made for 2TD20-900 transceivers).

RF output level is adjustable, in order to optimize the interference problem in complex node. Provision of metering facilities and visual indications (LED's) allows easy check of the units during routine measurements. Furthermore the built-in supervisory unit collects all radio terminal and external alarms (both locally and remotely originated) and monitor the BER performances of the radio hops, showing the results by LED's at master radio terminal.

The radio terminal is made up of modules, formed by plug-in units to be inserted into 19" standard shelves. All modules can be easily inserted and withdrawn from the shelf front. Connections between modules are realized by U links placed on the front panel.
RF branching filter is designed for maximum installation flexibility and the mechanical configuration of shelves allows all operations to be carried out from the rack front.
Modular construction, compact packaging and reliable operation are obtained by solid-state technology, making the equipment proposed simple to install and maintenance.
